I have tried for 2 days to program this item and had no success. It was advertised as easy to program but there is no way to start over, go back, correct..terrible product and I plan to try one more time to set the thing and if it doesn’t work I will return it. There is no “800″ number to call for help either. b.hamilton

This item seemed great in the beginning but it doesn’t work consistently. So far I am able to live with it. If I give up on it I would likely buy another and hope it works without problems.

As others have noted, this is a well-constructed timer that will do what it is supposed to. However, be prepared for some frustration when you attempt to program it. I gave up and called the company. The person with whom I spoke acknowledged that the company’s instructions are not at all helpful. She walked me through the programming and emailed me a copy of her “cheat sheet.” I came within the proverbial inch of sending it back to Amazon.

I don’t think my unit ever worked correctly, but I didn’t know it for several days. I couldn’t review my settings because it would display either the on or the off time that I had set, but it wouldn’t let me view both the on-off settings to be sure I’d set them correctly. When the timer was on when I plugged it in, it wouldn’t turn the lights off. When it was off when I plugged it in, it wouldn’t turn the lights on. I use three other battery-backup Intermatic timers (each slightly different), so I didn’t expect problems with this one. I replaced the DT620CL with a single-setting timer and have had no more problems.

Very difficult to program. Instructions are difficult to read and you can not program the using without them. Almost returned this item but after several attempts was able to figure it out so that it would turn a lamp on an off at specific times of the day. They shouldn’t be this hard to use!
