While I can not comment on the problems with water condensating on the lenses- I can give you my three-day review. I installed the lights last week without any problems. the cable connectors worked like a charm, the directions were straight-forward, and I saved about $50 over buying the set individually at Lowes.
The functionality of the lights was better than I expected. I knew that 50W bulbs would emit a large amount of light, but I was still pleasently surpised. The peak of our roof is roughly 30′ from ground level, but it is still nicely illuminated. Make no mistake these are far broghter than the solar powered lights that your neighbors may use! The set is also expandable – by one to two more lights – just in case 4 lights is not quite enough for your landscaping needs.
The final tally-
- Easy to install
- Nice value
- illuminates a large area
- Includes 100 feet of 12 gauge cable (Sells for $44 at Lowes)
- Additional lights can be installed (sold seperately – $17 a piece at Lowes)
- 300w transformer that has a built in timer ($82 at Lowes) – and the ability to add a photo-eye (also sold seperately)
Two thumbs up!

My DH installed these today with no problem. He is not a professional just a regular DIY guy. He did a fantastic job and this is def. a quality unit. We only will use two of the spotlights but it is a fantastic deal even so, check HD and Lowes–costs more just for the power pack/timer ALONE never mind spotlights and wire too. The wire is also expensive like $25 or so for the length they provide so this is hot, hot, hot….

The most difficult part of this was installing an outside electrical outlet. If you already have one of those then this is a very easy installation!
The connectors are just a bit tricky to get each half lined up correctly … but when they do, they slide/lock into each other … and then just squeeze them together until the light comes on. Worked just fine every time. No problem.
I have six of the lights hooked up to the box … they look great. I am very happy with this purchase.

I received the Malibu pack of 4 lawn floodlights kit and found that all the gaskets had fallen behind the the bulb lens during shipment. I called Malibu and was told that this was not their product but a product made by Intermatic even though all the labeling and information on the box and instructions only had the name of Malibu. So I contacted Intermatic and was told that all of their products did not have a loose gasket but were sealed to fixture lens. So I purchased a tube of silicon adhesive and attached all the gaskets to the fixture glass lens. I still do not know if the product I bought is a Malibu or an Intermatic product. I really think that the product is a Malibu product but feel I should know in case of a warranty issue.
I have read some reviews that indicated that water was found in the fixtures-I would recommend you check the gaskets and make sure that they are sealed to the glass lens of the fixture.

Easy to install, worked as advertised. Noteworthy: Several of the unit housings were loose. I recommend removing the glass housing, checking the gasket, and re-assembling before deploying.
